What results can I expect from Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers produce noticeable results immediately upon injection. However, due to their minor side effects, it may take a few days before patients can appreciate the full results of treatment. The duration of the results from dermal fillers will vary depending on the products used, but they generally last between 6 to 18 months. After this time, patients can receive additional treatments to maintain their results.

Is there any downtime after Dermal Fillers?

Accepted Answer

There is no downtime required after dermal filler injections, so patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately after their appointment. However, patients can expect some minor redness, swelling and/or bruising in the treatment area as a result of the injections. These side effects typically fade within a few days. We recommend applying ice or cold compresses to the treatment areas afterwards.

What are Dermal Filler treatments like?

Dermal fillers are simple injectable treatments conveniently performed in our office. No anesthetic is required, but we offer a topical numbing gel to help minimize any discomfort from the injection process. Sometimes, local anesthesia is injected for a nerve block prior to filler injection. To perform the treatment, the dermal filler will be injected into and around the area where increased facial volume is desired. The exact number and location of these injections will depend on your cosmetic goals. These injections take only a few minutes to perform, after which we may massage the area to ensure the dermal filler formula is evenly dispersed. After this, the treatment is complete.

In most cases, your treatment may be eligible for coverage by health insurance.
