Hair loss, both male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness, share similar causes. These causes include:

Despite similar causes, men and women display hair loss symptoms differently. Male pattern baldness typically includes a receding hairline and on the top of the head (crown). Female pattern baldness typically starts along the center of the part, but can spread across the scalp from there.

Hair loss can be treated using a few different treatment methods. Unfortunately, male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness cannot be completely cured.
