Florida Dermatology Specialists is celebrating their first year in business with more than 1,000 successful Mohs surgeries performed—the most advanced and effective treatment procedure for skin cancer available today.

The practice is led by Dr. Richard Krathen who is double board-certified in Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery and a fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon—setting the standard for excellence in skin cancer prevention. After 15 years in the Treasure Coast/Palm Beach area, Dr. Krathen opened his two locations last year to provide exceptional patient care, helping his patients attain and maintain healthy skin.

In addition to Mohs surgery, the clinic’s comprehensive services encompass everything from skin cancer prevention to advanced skin care treatment including laser therapies and cosmetic treatments.

Over its first year, the practice has grown to 18 employees, most recently introducing two new physician assistants, Brandie Renart and Valeria Vidal, both board-certified, to the team.

Brand Renart graduated with Honors from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Continuing on this path, Brandie graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University. With a deep-rooted passion for dermatology, Brandie is dedicated to educating her patients about habits that promote healthy skin. She has made it her mission to stay at the forefront of the field, keeping up-to-date with the latest treatments and techniques to ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care. Valeria Vidal earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Florida Atlantic University. Her journey towards becoming a Physician Assistant led her to Nova Southeastern University, where she graduated with honors and obtained a Master of Medical Science.

Valeria's true passion lies in the field of dermatology, covering a wide spectrum of skin-related concerns, from skin cancer to cosmetic treatments. She places great importance on patient education, especially when it comes to skin conditions like skin cancer, emphasizing the crucial role of prevention.

The Physician Assistant staff also includes Alyssa Beaudet, also board-certified, who has been with the practice since its inception. Alyssa attended Nova Southeastern University and graduated valedictorian with a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant studies. She has a strong passion for cosmetic and general dermatology and believes spending time connecting with her patients results in optimal treatment outcomes.
