Follow along with our Employee Spotlight series to discover the remarkable stories and contributions of our team members at Florida Dermatology Specialists. This month, we're thrilled to highlight Bettina Dryden.

Can you share a bit about your background and how you got into dermatology?

Growing up, I constantly saw my dad getting treatments done for skin cancer. When I was finally old enough to understand what was happening, it became pretty interesting and I absolutely fell in love with the skin. From then on, I knew I would end up in dermatology. Here I am now!

What motivates you to do your best work?

I love patient care and making sure that our patients feel comfortable from start to finish during their visit. Doctor offices aren't fun, and I know if I can make them smile while they’re here I'm doing something right. It’s all about providing an excellent patient experience.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in dermatology or managing a team?

You have to love what you do to be a great leader and to be successful in your work! Passion makes all the difference. Your team and your patients will be able to tell if your heart isn’t truly in it.

Could you share a skin care tip that you believe everyone should know for healthier skin?

Wear your sunscreen! Protect yourself. You can buy makeup with sunscreen, so there's no excuse! The best thing you can do for your skin is make sunscreen a life-long habit.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym in the early morning before work. It's the best stress reliever for me and my “me” time.

Question from Ruth: What skin care product do you believe you can not live without and why?

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! I can’t emphasize it enough. Like I said earlier, no excuses.

One question you’d like to ask the next employee that is highlighted:

What is your favorite sunscreen and why?

Stay tuned for next month’s Employee Spotlight for another close look at our outstanding team at Florida Dermatology Specialists.
